Request

Patrons may request that an item owned by this library, or another within the NWLS system area be reserved for them in person, over the phone, or via the internet. Patrons will be notified by telephone or email when their item has arrived. There is no charge to the patron for placing a reserve or for interlibrary loan services.

In person or by phone: Please provide library staff with as much information as you have about the item you wish to request, such as title, author or media (book or audiobook or DVD.) We can assist with subject searches, if required. Library staff will need your patron card or card number, or the correct name in which the patron card is issued. If the item is being ordered from another system library the default delivery location will be Cable, unless otherwise specified by the patron.

If the patron is ordering a new or popular title, chances are very good that other reserves will have been placed on the item and that there will be a wait before the item can be delivered. If the Forest Lodge Library owns the item, our patrons will be given preference in the reserve queue.

Via the internet or library OPAC : Access the MERLIN online catalog. The MERLIN online catalog will be the homepage of the OPAC computer.

Follow the directions for USING THE CATALOG. When your search is displayed, peruse displayed items to ascertain that you are selecting your preferred format, i.e. book, book on CD or e-audiobook. You may click on your record of choice for a listing of item distribution and availability or simply click on REQUEST ITEM button.

A screen requesting your name and library card # will come up. Fill in and click SUBMIT button. Cable will be the default delivery location, but you may choose another, using the drop-down menu. You may also specify a "cancel if not filed by" date. SUBMIT.

If the item you are looking for cannot be located within the MERLIN/NWLS system a search can be conducted through WISCAT. Library staff will perform a WISCAT search on your behalf.
