The Forest Lodge Library is grateful for the support of its patrons and friends and the communities of Cable and Namakagon.
Yes YOU can help the Forest Lodge Library! We are happy to accept your donations of time, goods or financial assistance.
Donations of materials
The Forest Lodge Library can accept your donation of books, periodicals, pamphlets or audio-visual materials with the understanding that the library has the authority to make whatever disposition of the material deemed advisable. If suitable, items will be cataloged into our collection. Donated items will otherwise be included in our ongoing booksale, the proceeds of which benefit the library.
The Forest Lodge Library cannot accept:
- Reader's Digest Condensed books
- Old textbooks
- Old encyclopedias
- Mildewed or damaged books
- Paperbacks with covers torn off
The Forest Lodge Library is grateful for your financial contribution. As a small public library with considerable budget constraints, the monetary gifts of patrons and friends augment the programming and services that we are able to offer.
Significant financial gifts to the library should be made through the auspices of the Katie Flowers Endowment. The library staff will be happy to provide you with contact information for Endowment officers.
The Forest Lodge Library welcomes those wishing to volunteer their time to assist with library operations. Assistance is always appreciated in keeping current with the shelving of returned materials, processing newly received materials and reviewing the order of shelved items. A minimal amount of training is required to assist with these activities and we'll be glad of your time whether it's fifteen minutes here or there or several hours a week.
The Katie Flowers Endowment is always happy to have assistance with their annual book sales on the 4th of July at the Cable Rec Park. Sign-up sheets are typically available at the library desk in advance of these events. Assistance with moving books, shelving books and straightening the area is also greatly appreciated. If you are willing or able to play a larger role, please let us put you in touch with an officer of the Endowment.
