Safe Lawns

Presenter Sara Boles, who area residents will recognize as the Natural Native Plantscapes person, is a strong proponent of safe lawn care. She'll be screening a documentary entitled A Chemical Reaction, chronicling a grass-roots effort in Quebec, Canada that eventually resulted in a province-wide ban on the use of lawn chemicals. The documentary was  produced by Safelawns.org, an organization of lawn-care professionals from both the for- and non-profit sectors determined to increase public education about the dangers of chemical pesticide and herbicide use and to improve access to information about organic lawn care.

After the documentary screening, Boles will encourage discussion of the issue and answer your questions about safe lawn care.
